In November, the chapter will be participating in Kappa Alpha Psi’s annual C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference. This year the conference will be held on the campus of Howard University. The purpose of the conference is to train and educate members in various aspects of the fraternity.

Chapters of Region IV in the Eastern Province will hold a Town Hall meeting on October 2, 2010 at the Lynchburg Technology Center, from 10 am to 12 pm.  The Eastern Province Polemarch, Dwight E. Thomas, as well as the Eastern Province Vice Polemarch, Steven Hairston, will both be in attendance to participate in a discussion of concerns within the region.

Chapters of Region IV includes the following alumni chapters: Roanoke, Martinsville, Danville, Lynchburg, and Charlottesville. Additionally, the following collegiate chapters are part of Region IV: Virginia Tech, James Madison University, and the University of Virginia.

Members of the Roanoke Alumni Chapter will participate in a park clean-up at Elmwood Park on Saturday, October 16, 2010.

The fraternal year is underway! Our chapter met for our September meeting on Sunday, September 12, 2010. We normally meet on second Sundays.

The week of August 30, 2010, chapter members will volunteer their time and resources to provide haircuts for the children of residents at the TAP Transitional Living Center. TAP’s Transitional Living Center (TLC) offers transitional housing and nutrition for homeless individuals and families. It differs considerably from emergency shelters in that most shelters limit stays to a few nights and require clients to leave after breakfast. Our annual Bo Terry Tennis Tournament — a joint collaboration with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity — will be held August 28th, Saturday and August 29th, Sunday at Eureka Park. There will be singles and doubles competition as well as multiple awards in various categories. Come out and enjoy the day with Kappas and Ques!
